Are your eyebrows lighter than you'd like? Are your eyelashes barely noticeable? Tinting by a trained esthetician may be the solution to your lash and brow woes.

Eyebrow Tinting Explained

To change the color of your eyebrows, an esthetician applies color, much like they do if they are coloring your hair.

The first step is to conduct a patch test and have a consultation, to ensure that you don't have a reaction to the dye. The esthetician will also talk with you to find out what you want your brows to look like.

The second step comes after the patch test result. If you don't have a reaction, the esthetician will apply a cleanser, then Vaseline to your skin around your brows, to keep the dye from staining your skin.

Next is the application of the dye; the esthetician will comb dye through your brows, the have you wait a few minutes before removing the dye.

This is a semi-permanent treatment and will need to be touched up, usually in 6-8 weeks, due to the lifecycle of the eyebrow hair.

Eyelash Tinting Explained

For individuals who want more visible lashes that look more striking and incredible, eyelash tinting is a great option.

This permanent dye job darkens the existing eyelashes in as little as 20 minutes and offers darker, thicker-looking lashes.

Like brow tinting, the eyelash tinting procedure starts with a consultation and a patchy test. If you have no reaction to the dye, you'll return for the dyeing.

The esthetician will use special stickers to protect your eye from the dye. They'll apply dye to both your upper and lower eyelashes, using a disposable mascara wand, and wait. After 5-10 minutes, they'll remove the dye and you'll have darker, thicker-looking eyelashes.

Like the eyebrow tinting, the process will need to be redone in 4-6 weeks, as the tinted hairs fall out and are replaced.
